"The people of Jammu Kashmir have been subjected to an inhuman curfew, thousands of arbitrary detentions mostly of teenagers, night raids, rape, torture and clampdown on the internet and cell phone," he said.
Ambassador Javed said that India has come under serious criticism by UN High Commissioner on Human Rights and other international human rights organizations for its repressive measures in the disputed territory. "Jammu and Kashmir dispute is an internationally recognized disputed territory. It needed to be resolved according to UN Security Council Resolutions," he said.
