KATHMANDU, April 25: Speaker Devraj Ghimire has informed the members of the House of Representatives(HoR) that the post of member of parliament (MP) of Dhaka Kumar Shrestha has been canceled and that he is no longer an MP.
Speaker Ghimire gave this information in the HoR meeting on Tuesday.
Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) took action against Shrestha after an audiotape of him demanding Rs 20 million from a businessman was released.
After the RSP forwarded a letter to the HoR informing the latter of the action taken against Shrestha, Speaker Ghimire informed parliament that the post of MP earlier held by Shrestha is vacant now.
