Earn for yourself

“I don’t like children begging on the street. You can see children begging at the age when they are supposed to be reading books, learning and playing in a school. I don’t know why they are doing this sort of thing but I want to help them,” said Babli Jaiswal. Thirteen years old Jaiswal from Bihar, India is studying at Grade 6 and now she is living with her aunt and uncle in Kathmandu. She helps her kin at a shop near Kasthamandap. “My mother doesn’t like me working outside but I prefer working because when I often see children of my age begging that doesn’t feel good,” she said adding that earning for pocket money is better than depending on other’s for basic needs.
