KATHMANDU, JULY 20: A meeting held on the premises of Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) on Tuesday formed an alliance - Solidarity for Prof Govinda KC - to support the campaign launched by Dr Govinda KC.
Concluding that the state has not shown seriousness and sensitivity toward Dr KC's health, the alliance has decided to organize a protest program on coming Saturday.
“The issues raised by Dr KC like the reforms in health and medical sector, good governance and accountability are the agendas of the Nepali people,” the alliance said in a statement, adding that Dr KC's health should not suffer for raising people's agenda.
“It is the collective responsibility of the public to support the agendas favoring the general citizens,” the statement further read.
The alliance also expressed reservations over the government attitude of signing agreements but not implementing them.
Representatives from political parties, student unions, civil society members and other activists are involved in the alliance.
