Bishwo Ram Balami, third vice president of CAN, said many government officials visited the SofTech on Friday. “The footfall of students was big on the first two days of the event,” Balami, who is also the coordinator of the event, told Republica. “Stalls of Subisu, Next Technology, Nepal Telecom, and WebSurfer were the major crowd-pullers on the day.”
According to Balami, IT solution companies and ISPs have offered attractive schemes for consumers. “It might be because of this reason that stalls of these companies are drawing huge footfalls,” he added.
Amrit Kumar Pant, general secretary of CAN, said events like these help people get updated about technological advancements in IT and software industry. “In the long run, such events will help establish Nepal as an IT Hub in the region,” he added.
The four-day event, which kicked off on Wednesday, concludes on Saturday. The event has a total of 120 stalls of 60 different companies.
According to CAN, more than 90,000 people have already visited the SofTech. CAN is expecting total footfall of 100,000. “We are hopeful of getting more visitors on the final day as Saturday is a public holiday,” Balami added.
