KATHMANDU, Oct 31: Eastern, central and western regions of the country experienced cloudy conditions with some places receiving rainfall today due to the westerly low pressure system. 

Meteorologist at the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Subas Rimal said that most parts of the country saw cloudy weather while some parts and the eastern region received rainfall due to the influence of that system. 

According to him, the far-western region has comparatively less impacted by this low pressure system. The impact is seen more in the eastern region due to the low pressure belt around Bangladesh and there is possibility of snowfall occurring in the high mountainous region. 

Rimal said although the low pressure system prevalent in the upper atmosphere since three or four days will go away from Wednesday, still there is the probability of cloudy condition and intermittent rain in the hilly region due to the influence of the low pressure in the mesosphere. 

Slight chill was felt in the Kathmandu valley following light rain in various places of the valley this morning due to the effect of the westerly low pressure system. 

As per the last 24 hours' record collected at the Weather Forecasting Division, rainfall occurred in most of the places in the eastern region. Dhankuta received 15 millimetres, Biratnagar 10 millimetres and Okhaldhunga two millimetres of rainfall today. Jumla recorded the lowest temperature of 1 degree Celsius and Bhairahawa the highest of 32 degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours. Similarly, the lowest temperature in Kathmandu was 12 degrees Celsius and the highest 24 degrees Celsius.
