Smugglers, police exchange fire in Parsa

PARSA, Nov 13: Exchange of fire took place between police and hemp smugglers in Sonbarsa VDC of Parsa district on Saturday night.



The firing took place when police tried to take control of hemp being imported in Parsa from Makwanpur district through the jungle.[break]



Smugglers ran away when the police returned fire one round after the smugglers fired three rounds targeting the police, said District Police Office Parsa Spokesman and DSP Rabindra KC.



The police arrested Birbal Yadav and Imamul Gaddi of Sonbarsa VDC- 5 of Parsa in the skirmishes, and confiscated four sacks of hemp. No human loss has been reported, the police said.
