Baal Kumari Karki, 80, from Nardevi, Kathmandu sells water for a living. She is originally from Sindhupalchowk and has been residing in Kathmandu with her daughter’s family since six years now.
Dahal, Oli can’t contain their smiles
Her daughter has a small roadside stall that sells slippers. Karki has two sons of whom one is mentally ill and the other cannot move as he has a broken spine. When Karki had just moved to Kathmandu, she used to work as a garbage picker. Though she doesn’t earn much by selling water, she says she sticks with her work because it is better than begging.
