Chandra Bahadur Pahari is a 70-year-old retired farmer from Rai Gaun, Makawanpur. He came to Kathmandu four days ago for his eye operation. He had come to Kathmandu for the first time a few months ago for operation on his other eye. This is his second visit to the capital.

Altab Hussain, 42, from Kotak of India sharpens metal tools for his living. He is currently living in Bouddha, Kathmandu with his five friends.

Krishna Devi Maharjan is a 40-year-old shopkeeper from Maru, Kathmandu. She has been running a small dairy shop at Basantapur for almost 14 years.

Mangaal Gandhari, 37, sells sarangis (traditional Nepali musical instruments) for his living at Thamel, Kathmandu. His family, including his father, wife, and three children, lives in Gorkha.

Deviram Joshi, 43, is a carpet seller from Guthu, Surkhet. He is currently living near Hanumandhoka of Kathmandu with his family, including his wife and a daughter. He came to Kathmandu some six months ago to find work.

Fifteen-year-old Bikash Thakur can be seen wandering around Basantapur area every day. He is originally from Darbhanga, India and is currently living at Jaisideval, Kathmandu.

Sangita Chaudhary, 20, is a security officer at a shopping complex in Kathmandu. She joined work only two days ago and has been enjoying it so far. Prior to this, she was serving as a temporary cop for the local and provincial level elections.

Baal Kumari Karki, 80, from Nardevi, Kathmandu sells water for a living. She is originally from Sindhupalchowk and has been residing in Kathmandu with her daughter’s family since six years now.
