Smart toilet in operation at Tripureshwor

Bidhya Sundar Shakya, mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City inaugurated a smart toilet at Tripureshwor on Friday.

The toilet covers an area of 500 sq ft with a length of 28 ft and a width of 12 ft. Both men and women can use the toilet. There are four male urinals along with cubicles for women and gender-neutral space.


Speaking at the inauguration program, Mayor Shakya said that the priority of the Kathmandu metropolis is to build environment-friendly infrastructure and distribute technological urban services for sustainable development. Mayor Shakya said that the toilet is odorless and user-friendly for women, children, persons with disabilities, and senior citizens.
