KATHMANDU, April 26: The Ministry of Education (MoE) has started investigations into the reported shortage of question papers at various exam centers during the ongoing examinations of Grade 12.
According to the MoE sources, Santosh Aryal, the controller of examinations, has been suspended over the shortage.
There has been mismatch in the exact numbers of examinees, which resulted in the shortage in some districts, said joint secretary Dilli Ram Rimal of the MoE. “The ministry will investigate into the case,” he added.

The ministry sources informed that the post of controller has been deputed as acting controller to Jayanti Satyal, deputy controller of the Office of the Controller of Examinations.
A total of 353,012 students of Grade 12 were eligible to sit in exams, which are scheduled for April 23 to May 5 across the country.
A total of 11,880 security personnel, 2,170 office assistants, 1,571 civil servants, 17,650 invigilators, 1,639 sub-superintendents and 990 superintends have been deployed in the exams being conducted at 990 exam centers, according to the ministry.
The SLCE has ended the 83 years old history of the School Leaving Certificate (SLC), which started from 1934.
