Altogether 574,685 students had filled up SLC exam forms from different parts of the country including Kathmandu this year.
Examination Controller Bishnu Bahadur Dware informed that SLC examination today is being run in a peaceful and decent manner.
The Office of Examination Control, Sano Thimi has mobilized superintendants, assistant superintendants, invigilators, employees and security personnel in the examination centers across the country.
It is informed that CPN-Maoist Chairperson Mohan Baidhya's spouse Sushma Baidhya is also taking the first paper of SLC exam today. She is attending the examination at Tokha-based Manohar higher secondary school center as an examinee from Chetana Women School, Gangobu, said Sunita Silwal, teacher from Manohar secondary.
The Education Ministry has deputed central monitoring team headed by Joint Secretary each in all 14 zones.
Ministry Spokesperson Dr Hari Lamsal said some of them have already reached the districts while some others are on the way.
