“Yeti with petrol engine was introduced in the market in June this year. As the vehicle is doing well in the market, we decided to launch the diesel version as well,” Deepak K Agrawal, general manager of MAW-Skoda Division, said. “Moreover, the demand of vehicles like Yeti is higher when it has a diesel engine.”[break]
All the features of Yeti diesel are similar to its petrol version. However, Yeti petrol was available with the displacement of 1800 cc, but the diesel variant will come with 2000 cc. The car is available in two different variants - with sunroof and without sunroof. Apart from that, the steering of the car is height and reach adjustable and has music controls in it. The music system of the car is connected to eight speakers which makes it audible from a great distance.
The roof rail makes the car look sportier and adds to the design. Xenon headlights of Yeti have dynamic angle control that turns with the turn of steering wheels. The integrated fog lamp and factory fitted rear sensor are the special features that Yeti diesel has. Electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors defogs the mirrors automatically.
The rear central seat can be folded to make an armrest or table. It also has the opening to the trunk for loading things better. The display in the front shows the kilometers that the car can travel before running out of fuel, outside temperature, average speed and average mileage apart from time.
The air-conditioner of the car can adjust either similar temperature throughout the cabin or different temperatures in the left and side of the car. The intelligent air conditioner also reads the direction of sunrays and adjusts its temperature accordingly.
“The features provided by Yeti are not offered by vehicles of its price range which makes Yeti, a value for money product,” said Agrawal.
Along with regular features like central lock, dual airbag, keyless entry, side protection strips and anti-lock braking system, Yeti diesel has other features like passenger airbag with option to switch it off. The key of the car had an electronic chip installed which makes the key impossible to copy. The Yeti diesel is available in 13 different colors.
“We are planning to sell 150 units of this car within a year,” said Agrawal.
