Ski team off to Kazakhstan

KATHMANDU, Feb 25: A six-member Nepali ski team, including four players, left Kathmandu on Sunday to participate in the children section of the 22nd Asian Alpine Ski Championship, to be held at Chimbulak Ski Resort in Almaty, Kazakhstan from February 25 to March 1.



Young Nepali skiers Pradhun Maharjan, Sahas Shrestha, Sangita Lama and Gori Maya Tamang are to participate in the giant slalom and slalom events. Ram Prasad Gurung is the coach of the Nepali team, while Jitendra Shrestha is the team-manager. [break]



Nepal Ski Association President Jeewan Ram Shrestha bade farewell to the team on Sunday.
