Six held with fake notes

BIRGUNJ, Dec 28: Police arrested six persons with 134 counterfeit Nepali currency notes of Rs 500 denomination in Nijgadh of Bara on Sunday.



Among the arrested are Bachina Khatum, 41, and Mughale Ajam, 33, of Simraungadh; Laxman Shah, 51, of Amreetgunj; and Kamala Bishwakarma, 46, and Chandan Shah, 15, of Birgunj. They were arrested in the evening after they purchased different goods with fake notes from the market in the noon.







The group might have conned more than a hundred local traders on Sunday alone, the police said. "The number of people who registered their complaints against the group has crossed two dozens," said sub-inspector Pradeep Gautam.
