Six deaths attributed to COVID-19 reported in Nepal in past 24 hours

KATHMANDU, Sept 3: At least six deaths attributed to coronavirus were recorded across Nepal in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population said on Thursday afternoon.

KATHMANDU, Sept 3: At least six deaths attributed to coronavirus were recorded across Nepal in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population said on Thursday afternoon. 


Jageshwar Gautam, spokesperson for the ministry, said that four men and two women succumbed to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the past 24 hours.

One woman each from Bhaktapur (aged 40), Chitwan (aged 40), Tanahu (aged 92) and Rupandehi (aged 77) died of COVID-19, according to the spokesperson. 


Likewise, a 65-year-old male from Rupandehi and another 77-year-old male from Sindhupalchowk also died of the viral disease. 


"With the aforementioned new fatalities recorded in the past 24 hours, Nepal's COVID-19 death toll has climbed to 257," Spokesperson Gautam said while paying tribute to the deceased and heartfelt condolences to the victims' families.
