KATHMANDU, Dec 1: The Public Procurement Monitoring Office (PPMO) has blacklisted half a dozen errant contractors and vendors for a year.
A meeting of the PPMO held on Monday decided to blacklist six contractors and vendors upon the recommendations of various government agencies or public entities.
According to officials at the PPMO, the JIEC Pappu JV of Tinkune, Kathmandu has been blacklisted on recommendation of Road Division Office, Kathmandu. The contractor has been accused of poor quality construction of the bridge in Teku. The government had in the past also blacklisted the construction company for carrying out substandard work and failing to complete projects on time.
Utkal Construction of Khimti-9, Ramechhap; Dolari Construction ofTarkeshwor, Kathmandu; Charghare Construction of Haldibari-6, Jhapa; Nandalal Krishi Machinery Suppliers of Tansen-7, Palpa and ABC Trade and Suppliers of Kathmandu were among others that faced actions for their underperformance.
Two weeks ago, the PPMO had blacklisted M/S Wora Intertrade Co Ltd, Thailand, M/S BS Trade International, Bajrangbali Construction of Bajhang, B and M Construction of Dadeldhura, Dey Bishes Tara Construction of Rolpa and Dhakal Construction of Dhading under similar charges.
