Sita Kumari Sundas presents bill to amend Appropriation Act in Gandaki province assembly

GANDAKI, Feb 4: A bill was presented in the meeting of the Gandaki Provincial Assembly on Friday to amend the Appropriation Act, 2079.

Provincial Government Minister for Economic Affairs Sita Kumari Sundas presented the bill to the Assembly. The state government has advanced the process of amending the bill to spend the allocated budget for the current year. The government's goal is to increase capital expenditure through the effective implementation of budgets and programs.

It is said that the Appropriation Act Amendment Bill will be discussed in the provincial assembly meeting to be held next Tuesday. At zero and special time of Friday's meeting, the member of the provincial assembly drew the attention of the government to the issue of development, construction and people's livelihood.

Provincial Assembly member Lil Bahadur Thapa said that the autonomous rights of the province should be established. He said that a common plan and determination is needed to achieve the goal of a prosperous Gandaki.

Another member, Padma GC, drew the government's attention to the fact that the farmers of Nawalpur are not getting fertilizers, seeds and irrigation facilities. He said that a special plan should be brought to reduce the increasing human-wildlife conflict in recent times.

Provincial Assembly member Sudhir Kumar Paudel demanded that the farmers of Syangja should be given proper compensation as 293 tons of oranges stored in the moisture center rotted.

Similarly, Provincial Assembly member Prakash Baral mentioned that the state government should take initiative for international flights from Pokhara International Airport.

Another member, Hari Bahadur Bhandari, drew the attention of the government saying that the construction of the Myagdi District Hospital building has not been completed despite repeated extensions. Provincial Assembly member Bindu Adhikari Pahari said that skills and technology should be given to single women to make them independent.

Provincial Assembly member Dilliram Subedi said that the question raised on the justification of the state structure should be answered reliably. He said that a white paper should be issued on the activities of the first term of the provincial assembly.

Provincial Assembly members Fanindra Devkota, Takaraj Gurung, Shyamraja Mahat, Saraswati Gurung, Laxman Pandey, Mahesh Bhattarai, Bhojraj Aryal, Bhakta Kunwar, Dilmaya Pauvi, Dayamanti Ruchal, Govinda Bahadur Nepali, Krishna Prasad and others spoke in the meeting. The next meeting of the provincial assembly will be held next Tuesday at 1 pm.
