Sipora Gurung to donate prize money

KATHMANDU, Sept 12: Sipora Gurung, the winner of Pulsar Popular Player of the Year award, has announced that she will donate her prize money for social cause.



During a thanksgiving ceremony organized on Monday by Nepal Sports Journalists Forum, the organizer of Sports Award 2067, Gurung announced that she will donate Rs 10,000 each to Sano Sansar Child Care Center, Sahara Football Club and Lamjung United Football Club.[break]



Gurung had received Rs 30,000 as the winner of the popular player award. Gurung is a founding member of Annapurna Daughters´ Club which runs the Sano Sansar Child Care Center.



She said she finds self-satisfaction in social service.



When asked why she decided to donate to football clubs, Gurung replied that she is a sportsperson and not only a volleyball player.
