The award was handed over by Chief Guest Dr. Gowher Rizvi, the International Affairs Advisor to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh amidst a function held last Friday, according to a press statement issued by Embassy of Nepal in Dhaka.
Singer Dhakal performed his popular numbers to the thunderous applause of the audience at the Festival held at Shishu Academy in Shahbag, Dhaka. In addition to Dhakal, several Bangladeshi and Indian artistes made their renditions of spiritual and devotional music on the occasion. Local music enthusiasts as well as many Nepali students from various universities in Dhaka attended the event.
Several important dignitaries including advocate Fazilatunnesa Bappy, member of parliament; famous Bangladeshi singer Fakir Alamgir and the director of the Gandhian Institute of Studies in Varanasi, India, Deepak Malik, were present on the occasion, according to the statement.
