Sindhuli Jeep Accident: Five dead, eight injured

SINDHULI, Feb 7: Five people were killed and eight others injured in a jeep accident at Chande Bhanjyang of Fikkal rural municipality-2, Sindhuli. The jeep, Ba 15 Cha 9422 was heading to Sindhuligadi from Mahadev Dada.

According to eyewitnesses, the jeep, which had made a stop in a downhill road, lost control and plunged head-on 200 meters down.  The jeep was transporting 12 passengers. According to DSP Lok Darshan Thapa, four people died on the spot while another succumbed to injuries. Eight others, including the driver, are undergoing treatment at Khurkot Hospital.  

Those deceased are:

Til Maya BK, 56, Laxmi BK, 50, Anita Mahat, 25 and Kun Man Tamang 65, from Fikkal RM-2

Shanti Maya Shrestha from Fikkal RM-3.

Those injured are:

Driver Man Bahadur Sunuwar (26) and Dipak Kumar Sunuwar (43), Jaya Prasad Neupane (35),  Dipak Shrestha (38) and of Fikkal RM-2

Ganesh Ghising (26) Ganga Maya BK (66), Chandra Maya BK (65) and Rajesh Sunuwar (45)of Tinpatan RM.

The jeep's driver, Man Bahadur and another passenger, Dipak is critically injured, according to DSP Thapa.  Both have been rushed to Kathmandu for further treatment.
