Simrik Air chopper crash: One dies, all four injured airlifted to Kathmandu (UPDATE)

KATHMANDU, May 5:  One person has died in a Simrik Air helicopter crash in Sankhuwasabha on Friday.

KATHMANDU, May 5:  One person has died in a Simrik Air helicopter crash in Sankhuwasabha on Friday.


According to District Police Office Sankhuwasabha Spokesperson Bhuwan Babu Khadka, Bhawin Gurung, who was seriously injured in the accident, has died. The deceased Gurung was working as a helper in the helicopter.

Captain Surendra Paudel, co-pilot Chhiring Bhote, another assistant Manoj Thapa and Nepal Electricity Authority employee Bikram Shankar were injured in the accident, police said. They have been brought to Kathmandu for treatment


The accident took place at Hammaredanda of Bhotkhola Rural Municipality-4 while landing. The helicopter was carrying construction materials for the Upper Arun Hydropower Project.
