KATHMANDU, Nov 17: The 'silent period' of election campaign for the House of Representatives and provincial assemblies elections to be held on November 20 is starting from today.
The Election Commission (EC) has said that the silent period will start from 12:00 tonight. Earlier, the period during which no campaign activities are allowed was called the silent period. This time, the commission has called this period a 'campaign silence'.
This period will continue until the polling station is closed on the day of voting. During this time, election propaganda cannot be done in any physical or immaterial way.
Meanwhile, the security strategy for the election has also been prepared. According to which, arrangements have been made for aerial patrolling at highly sensitive polling stations.
