In the first playoff hole, played at par-3 Hole No 10, Shrestha carded a par, while Thapa Magar ended up with a bogey after a bad tee shot that landed at fringe behind the bunker.
While Thapa Magar missed the opportunity to equal Deepak Acharya´s record of 10 trophy wins, Shrestha caught Thapa Magar at second position with nine titles under his belt. Shrestha, who won five trophies in the 2008-09 season, recorded his fourth victory this season after failing to win any in the 2009-10.
Out of the total cash prize of Rs 385,000, Shrestha bagged a purse of Rs 80,000, while Thapa Magar received Rs 51,000. Defending champion Rupak Acharya and Umesh Nagarkoti finished joint third at 11-over 299 and walked away with Rs 36,500 each. Acharya played a round of 73, whereas Nagarkoti shot four-over 76.
Second day´s leader Deepak Neupane came fifth with a total score of 300 after the final round score of two-over 74. Nepal No 1 Rabi Khadka played a horrible round of seven-over 79 to finish sixth at 301. Dharan´s Sabin Sapkota (303), Ramesh Nagarkoti (306) of RNGC, Surya Prasad Sharma (306) of Gokarna, Sanjay Lama (310) of RNGC finished among the top 10.
In the Amateur section, Tashi Tsering registered a 14-stroke victory over his brother Wanchen Dhondup. Tsering played five-over 77 on the final day for a total of 308, while Dhondup shot 11-over 83. Bikash Bogati finished third at 324 after the final day score of one-over 73.
