Nepal No 1 Shiva Ram carded one-under 66 for a total of four-under 130, while fellow RNGC pro Rabi scored two-under 65 to stay second at three-under 131during the fourth event under the Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2011\12. [break]
Ramesh Adhikari of RNGC and Mani Rai of Dharan jointly occupy third position with the total score of even-par 134. Ramesh shot one-under 66, while Mani produced the best card of the day at three-under 64.
Sanjay Lama (69) and Deepak Neupane (68) are tied for the fifth position with a total score of three-over 137, while Deepak Thapa Magar played one-under 66 for a total of four-over 138. Umesh Nagarkoti, who shot even-par 67, is eighth at 139. Ramesh Nagarkoti and Ram Thapa are tied for ninth at 140.
Yelamber Singh Adhikari, Pashupati Sharma, Dhana Thapa, Surya Prasad Sharma, CB Bhandari, Rajan Thapa, Rupak Acharya and Suman Rai made the cut in the main event. Prasanna Upreti, who made his professional debut from this event, failed to qualify for the final day after he scored eight-over 75 on the second day to add to his first round score of 20-over 87 for a total of 28-over 162.
In amateur section, Bhuwan Gurung and Dipendra Rayamajhi shared the top position with the total score of 14-over 148, while Dinesh Prajapati (76) is one stroke adrift at the third position. Gorkha Lama and Charlie Gurung, who both shot five-over 72 today, are tied for the fourth position at 150. Three other amateurs who survived the cut for the final round -- Om Thakuri, Ashish Pariyar and Bikash Bogati -- shared the sixth position with the total score of 152.
Shiva Ram carded a birdie on the par-5 fourth hole and saved pars on rest of the holes to take a turn at one-under 32. Shiva Ram shot a birdie on the par-5 13th hole before suffering a bogey on the final hole to finish the last nine holes at even-par 34. Rabi opened with back-to-back birdies and added another on the sixth hole to finish the front nine at three-under 30. On the one-over 35 back nine, Rabi carded a birdie on the 11th hole before dropping shots on the 12th and 18th holes.
The second round was postponed for the day after rain washed out play on Monday. The play was interrupted twice on Tuesday as well, with the players stranded on the course for more than one hour. The final round of the 54-hole tournament is scheduled for Tuesday. Of the total purse of Rs 300,000, the top three pros will receive Rs 60,000 Rs 41,000 and Rs 30,000 respectively.
