Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, is the latest in the series of celebrities, to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s demonetization decision saying it would serve good in the long run.
“As someone who is a celebrity, we have been affected as much as lower middle and middle class due to demonetization. But we can’t keep short-term vision,we will have to think long term. We have to think about the good effects of demonetization in long term,” she said.
“The hardships faced by common people were only for first twenty days or one month. But the long-term effects of it, will be far better. I am somebody who is very positive and I want to see the positive side of things. So it has started with very good intention,” said the 41-year-old actress.
She hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi claiming herself to be his big fan. “I am a big fan of Narendra Modi. He is a visionary person and has done some really great work,” Shilpa added.
The Prime Minister, on November 8 had announced his government’s decision to demonetize currency notes of Rs 1,000 and Rs 500.
