KATHMANDU, March 22: The Development Committee under the Legislature-Parliament, on Wednesday, has asked the government, including the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) to set up and implement the reconstruction fund within a month.
The committee stressed on the importance of the fund for the easy disbursement of the budget for the reconstruction activities.
Framework for operation of reconstruction fund to be prepared
The meeting summoned the CEO of the NRA, Govindra Raj Pokharel and other concerned officials from the various ministries and has seek the work in progress on the reconstruction activities, problems and the solution on the activities.
Similarly, the committee drew the attention of the government and NRA over the slow speed of the reconstruction tasks and urged the related bodies to speed up their actions. Likewise, the committee asked the government to accelerate in providing the second installment of financial assistant to reconstruct the shelter so that the victim could get proper lodging before the monsoon.
The meeting has decided to summon Prime Minister and concerned ministers to the committee for the further discussion on this issue.
