KATHMANDU, Oct 12: Five people were killed and another 49 sustained injuries in two road accidents in Sindhuli and Nuwakot.
A passenger bus (Na 6 Kha 912) heading to Kathmandu from Marinkhola veered off the road and plunged about 300 meters onto the Sunkoshi river bank. Those injured have been sent to Kathmandu for treatment. Those deceased have been identified as Rabi Khadka, 28 of Sunkoshi rural municipality-8, Sindhupalchowk. Two of the other six passengers died while on their way to Dhulikhel Hospital for treatment.
Likewise, another passenger bus veered off the road at Suryagadhi rural municipality-5, Nuwakot. The bus (Ba 1 Kha 6356) was carrying more than 50 passengers. Those deceased have been identified as Minu Tamang, 28 of Panchakanya rural municipality-4 and Balram Tiwari, 56. Of those injured, 32 are undergoing treatment at Trishuli Hospital, 10 in Kathmandu and three in City Hospital, Nuwakot.
