KATHMANDU, March 25: Senior leader of CPN-UML Madhav Kumar Nepal has submitted his clarification to the party Chairman K P Oli.

In the 13-point clarification letter, senior leader Nepal, however, has not responded to any of the allegations made against him. He has instead posed counter questions to the party’s Chairman Oli on various decisions taken by him in the recent past.

Leader Nepal has also sought clarification from Oli on those charges. Among other things, Nepal has alleged that Chairman Oli had pushed the UML on the verge of split by holding the party’s central committee meeting on March 12 against the verdict issued by the Supreme Court.

Nepal has taken strong exception to the decision taken by Chairman Oli to appoint 23 former Maoist leaders as the party’s CC members. Nepal has alleged that Oli had shown no sign of correcting the unilateral decision taken to appoint 23 CC members and strip all leaders close to him off their responsibility on March 17.

Arguing that their activities are aimed at bolstering the party unity, Nepal has also claimed that Chairman Oli is liable for punishment for various controversial decisions taken on a unilateral basis. He has maintained that the recent decisions taken by Chairman Oli go against the party’s statute endorsed by the Ninth General convention.
