Seminar in Delhi on Nepali migrants' rights

KATHMANDU, Sept 1: Diplomats have urged Nepali workers in India to safeguard their rights without forgetting their duties in the host country.



Speaking at a seminar on ‘Rights and Duties of Nepalese Labor Migrants in India,’ organized by BP Koirala India-Nepal Foundation and embassy of Nepal in New Delhi, K.N Adhikari said that Nepalese migrants should claim their rights and seek compensation without forgetting their duties. [break]



“It is the duty of the migrants to obey the laws of the land and opt for peaceful employment without disrupting the law and order as well as social harmony,” said Adhikari.



A press statement issued by Nepal Embassy in New Delhi said Akhilesh Mishra, a joint secretary at the Ministry of External Affairs of India said cross border migration has been cementing historical and cultural ties between the two countries.
