Rajan Niraula, 35, of Biratnagar-16 was found dead two and half hours after he posted a guard at the main gate at 6:00 in the evening and left to prepare dinner.
"Other guards first informed me that he was in a critical condition after inebriation. When I went there with police, he was already dead," administrative officer of the factory Kiran Singh Basnet said. Basnet said the death looks to be due to alcohol but Niraula´s family and fellow workers have called it a murder.
The family has refused to accept the body and is demanding proper investigation and compensation.
The workers and family members staged a sit-in and sloganeered on the factory premises throughout Monday. Police have taken three factory workers under detention in connection with the death and are waiting for the postmortem report.
