The locals had taken him to Janakpur Zonal Hospital when he was running back to home with a bullet wound in the right part of his abdomen. He was taken to Janaki Medical College at Ramdaiya after the zonal hospital said it could do nothing more than stopping the bleeding, and then flown to Kathmandu on a chopper at 12:15 pm after his treatment was not possible even there.
Jha, 43, had been promoted to section officer from Nayab Subba (non-gazetted first class) just a year ago. His wife and parents have been unconscious after the incident. He is survived by a son and a daughter.
Meanwhile, the Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha (Rajan Mukti) has owned up the killing. District In-charge Ujjwal Mukti called the local media and said Jha was punished for ´gross irregularities in appointment of teachers and involvement in selling of land of Mathiyani Trust of Mahottari´.
