KATHMANDU, Jan 16: The Public Service Commission (PSC) has witnessed oodles of applications- 54th fold of the demand- for the post of gazetted third class officer (section officer).
Against the demand of 980 section officers technical and non-technical combined, the PSC received 53,416 applications, said Narayan Prasad Gautam, section officer at the registration management centre of PSC.

According to him, as same persons have applied in different categories, the number of applications surged. For the technical officer, the applications were filed 66 fold more, while for non-technical officer, the applications surged by 43 fold. A total of 472 posts were announced vacant for technical officer, while 508 posts for non-technical.
To make the application process hassle-free, the PSC had launched an online application filing system a year back. RSS
