KATHMANDU, Dec 3: The CPN (Unified Socialist) party has called a secretariat meeting on December 4 to decide the date of the party’s convention.
The party had initially decided to organize a convention in the month of Magh (mid-January to mid-February). Jagannath Khatiwada, deputy general secretary and head of the Publicity Department of the party, said that because the National Assembly elections were going to be held at that time, a secretariat meeting was called to finalize a new date.

The meeting, to be held at the party's central office in Alok Nagar, will also address intra-party directives to resolve internal disputes, including the reassignment of responsibilities, division of work, and nominations to various committees.
The agendas for the meeting include devising strategies to enhance the party's structure and strength, formulating an action plan for organizational expansion at the grassroots, and evaluating the current political scenario.
Khatiwada added that the meeting will also address the international situation, determining the party's role and strategy in response.
