“EST is an additional burden on parents´ shoulders. So, we want the government to scrap it right away.
” Ministry of Finance (MoF) had imposed EST on private schools two years ago. Earlier, the MoF had made it mandatory for all private schools to pay five percent of their total incomes as EST.
Later, the MoF reduced it to just one percent following strong protests.
