Residents of different provincial and local governments have been hit hard after local bodies decided to introduce and/or raise tax amount. The Committee has also urged all bodies to coordinate with the central before introducing new systems. The coordinating bodies include the Office of Prime Minister and Cabinet of Ministers, Ministry of Finance, National Natural Resource and Fiscal Commission and National Planning Commission.

The Finance Committee has also urged the Ministry of Finance to play its role to ensure the same. A meeting of the committee yesterday concluded that while local bodies have the authority to exercise its rights, it was wrong to introduce dual tax. It also has urged the National Natural Resource and Fiscal Commission to form a fiscal commission at the earliest.
