Scotland defeats Nepal by nine wickets

KATHMANDU, Aug 1: Host Scotland defeated Nepal by nine wickets in its second match of the ICC World Cricket League Championship on Saturday.

In the match that continued in the reserve day due to rain, Scotland went past the 110-run target (D/L method) against Nepal in 13.5 overs losing one wicket.

Earlier, batting first after losing the toss Nepal made 167 runs losing all wickets in 49.1 overs. Sharad Vesawkar made highest 30 runs of 66 balls smashing two fours, while Basanta Ragmi and Abinash Karna contributed 19 and 17 runs respectively.

Scotland received the revised target of 110 runs to win in 22 overs as the match was affected by rain before the host began the chase.

The match was pushed to reserve day as it rained again while Scotland were at 15 runs in 1.4 overs.
