Schools closed due to viral fever in Gaighat

GAIGHAT, Udayapur, Sept 27: A majority of children studying in schools in Triyuga Municipality and the district headquarters, Gaighat, have fallen ill due to viral fever.



The viral fever which had spread in the eastern and western parts of Udayapur district sometime back has now spread to Triyuga Municipality and the district headquarters.[break]



It is stated that students at some 20 private and government schools in the Triyuga Municipality area have caught viral fever.



Over 200 out of 500 students at the Peace Zone International Academy School in Gaighat are suffering from viral fever, school principal, Baidanath Saha, said.



Similarly, hundreds of students at the Janapremi Lower Secondary School, the Balmandir Secondary School, the Triyuga Higher Secondary School, the Laxmipur Higher Secondary School and the Satyadevi Secondary School in Triyuga Municipality have fallen ill due to viral fever, the principals of these schools stated.



A majority of the students down with viral fever are between five years to 14 years old. Classes have been hampered due to the absence of most students at these schools due to the viral fever.
