The deceased is 15-year-old Ballu Chaudhary of Hatbazaar in Tikapur-9.
Chaudhary, an eighth grader at Janajyoti Lower Secondary School in Tikapur of Kailali, fell off the roof of the bus (Na 4 Kha 648) at around 8 p.m. on Friday when he was returning with his schoolmates from a picnic in Dodhara of Kanchanpur, District Police Office Kailali said. He died while undergoing treatment at Tikapur hospital, police said.
The school’s students blocked the road in Tikapur for two hours on Saturday demanding compensation to the deceased’s family. The blockade ended after the local administration assured them of compensation.
Police have taken the bus and its driver under control.
