KATHMANDU, Oct 2: The Department of Transport Management (DoTM) has decided to use school buses and buses carrying government employees for passengers returning to their home districts for Dashain festival.
DoTM Spokesperson, Basanta Adhikari said that they have requested the transport entrepreneurs to run public vehicles throughout the festival.
“Instead of leaving the buses in garages, entrepreneurs should operate them during Dasahin festival. This will help the passengers to go home during the festive season. “
Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs (FNNTE), however, argued that they haven’t left any buses in the garage.
According to FNNTE General Secretary, Saroj Sitaula, the ongoing road widening drive along the Narayanght-Mugling road section is hindering the arrival of the vehicles.
Sitaula said, “The dilapidated road condition along Kalanki-Nagdhunga road section has added to the challenge.”
DoTM said that there was scarcity in bus tickets as most of the passengers seek tickets after Fulpati, the seventh day of Dashain festival.
The Department is working hard to satisfy all the passengers, he said. RSS
