SC seeks amicus curiae for voting rights of employees

KATHMANDU, Nov 5: Supreme Court has started hearing on the writ demanding voting right for the officials and security personals deployed during the upcoming elections and has asked for the amicus curiae regarding the issue.

KATHMANDU, Nov 5: Supreme Court has started hearing on the writ demanding voting right for the officials and security personals deployed during the upcoming elections and has asked for the amicus curiae regarding the issue.


A joint bench of Justices Deepak Raj Joshi and Dambar Bahadur Shahi on Sunday asked for the amicus curiae from Nepal Bar Association and Supreme Court Bar Association for Monday citing the high concern over the issue. The apex court has fixed the next hearing on Monday.

Deputy Attorney General Bharat Prasad Mainali had filed the writ demanding the voting right for the officials and security personals deployed during the upcoming elections.
