KATHMANDU, Nov 21: The Supreme Court (SC) has issued an order directing the government to present pro-monarchy activist Durga Prasai before the court in person within 24 hours. The order was issued while hearing a habeas corpus petition filed by Prasai’s son, Neerajan Prasai.
On Thursday, a single bench of Justice Megh Raj Pokharel issued a show cause order to the government along with the directive to produce Prasai before the court.

Neerajan had filed the petition claiming that his father was being unlawfully detained by the government and requested the court to release him.
Prasai is currently in police custody on charges related to disturbing public order.
