KATHMANDU, Nov 27: The Supreme Court (SC) has dismissed a habeas corpus petition against the arrest of medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai.
A division bench of justices Mahesh Sharma Paudel and Nityananda Pandey on Wednesday dismissed the petition filed by Prasai’s son Nirajan alleging the government of unlawfully detaining his father.

The police arrested Prasai from his residence in Bhaktapur on November 19 a day after he organised a press conference and presented some documents claiming that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has an investment of nearly Rs 32 billion in a telecom company in Cambodia.
On November 24, Prasai’s son Nirajan lodged a habeas corpus against the Ministry of Home Affairs, Police Headquarters Naxal, Central Investigation Bureau, Lazimpat and Kathmandu District Court.
Police are investigating Prasai on charges of cyber crime, forgery of government documents.
