KATHMANDU, July 19: The Supreme Court (SC) on Friday deputed the 79 judges of appellate courts appointed recently to their respective duty stations.

Acting Secretary and Spokesperson of Judicial Council Krishna Giri said that decision to this effect was made by Officiating Chief Justice Damodar Prasad Sharma based on recommendations of the Council. [break]

One of newly appointed judges Shambhu Ram Karki retired on 21 June due to age factor.

The judges were sent for deputation as their permanent posting would take some more time due to absence of Member of the Council and seniormost Justice of the SC Ram Kumar Prasad Saha.

Currently, Saha is out of country for medical treatment.

The 89 new district judges however would be posted on August 4 after completion of their training.
