Saurya Air flight delayed as NOC refuses to provide fuel

BIRATNAGAR, Aug 2: An airplane belonging to Saurya Airlines had to stop for an hour in the Biratnagar airport after the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) refused to provide aviation fuel as the airlines failed to pay the bill amount in advance.

The plane, CRJ-200, which was scheduled to fly for Kathmandu at 10.30 am, could not fly on time as Airport-based NOC depot denied to provide fuel.The plane flew for Kathmandu at around 11.50 only after the airlines paid bill amount to Kathmandu-based NOC office.

Passengers had vented their ire on staffs of the airline over stoppage.

Employees at Airport-based office had even shut down its office in a bid to avert the pressure.

Arjun Karki, Manager at airlines office, even switched his mobile phone off.
