Sarlahi: Police take under control woman’s dead body right before cremation, three arrested

RAUTAHAT, Sept 28: The police have taken under control the dead body of a woman who was about to be cremated in Sarlahi.


The body of Manisha Devi Shah, the 21-year-old wife of Sunil Shah of Ramnagar Rural Municipality-1 Khairwa, was taken under control by Sarlahi police.

Manisha died on Wednesday evening. A team from the District Police Office, Sarlahi, has taken control of the woman's body after receiving news that there were bruises on various parts of the dead body and that she had been hurriedly taken for cremation after her death. Sarlahi police spokesperson DSP Dipendra Panjiar Tharu said that the dead body was taken under control and sent to Malangwa Provincial Hospital for a postmortem.


Manisha's family took her dead body to the banks of the local Manusmara River near the village for cremation. However, the police who reached the cremation site just on time retrieved the dead body and arrested the deceased's husband Sunil Shah, father-in-law Rameshwar Shah and brother-in-law Ram Babu Shah from the scene of the incident. DSP Thapa said that an investigation into the incident has been started.
