DHANKUTA, Aug 28: People of Sankhuwasabha district offered a final condolence to the late folk and modern singer, Khem Raj Gurung on Sunday.
Thousands of relatives and well-wishers of the singer, who had gathered at the Khandbari, the district headquarters, offered their condolence to the late singer.
Following a request by the locals, Gurung’s dead body was brought to Khadbari for about an hour through a helicopter.
Along with the relatives and well-wishers, chiefs of security bodies and heads of government offices in the district were also present on the occasion to offer condolence.
Most of the people were seen in tears and they bid farewell to their beloved singer by singing his popular songs.
Gurung, who was best known for his hit song "Wari Jamuna Pari Jamuna," died on Thursday at Medicare National Hospital and Research Centre, Kathmandu at the age of 42 years.
