MAKALU, May 16: Farmers of Shankhuwasabha are getting united for the development of cardamom farming. Farmers have rolled up their sleeves by forming a 25-member cardamom farmers committee to excel in the black gold farming in Makalu rural municipality-3 of late.

Formed in the 2073 BS, the committee has been launching farmers friendly programs. With the improved style in the cardamom farming, the lifestyle of farmers has changed drastically.

“It was difficult to resolve hand-to-moth problem with the agriculture produce until yesterday but now we are making a lot of profits through agriculture,” said committee chairman Suresh Rai.

The farmers in the municipality produce cardamom in the amount ranging from 40 kilograms to 12 kilograms.
