BAGLUNG, August 4: The Saljhandi-Dhorpatan road section in Baglung district has been disrupted due to a landslide triggered by torrential rain in the area since Thursday afternoon. A heavy landslide that occurred in the Dogadi area of Dhorpatan Municipality-5 in the district disrupted the vehicular movement there, deputy mayor of Dhorpatan Municipality, Dhan Bahadur Kayat, said.

The landslide that occurred on Thursday afternoon hasn’t been cleared yet despite attempts to clear it from early morning today.

"A huge landslide that occurred near the Dogadi bridge has completely obstructed the road. We could not resume vehicular movement on Thursday as the landslide was too big. We are working to clear it today. The landslide has also damaged the road," he said.

A large number of passengers including tourists to and from the Dhorpatan area are stranded halfway after the vehicular movement was disrupted. 

Likewise, passengers en route to Burtibang, Pokhara, Kathmandu, Butwal and other destinations have suffered badly because of the landslide.
