KATHMANDU, April 5: Sajha Yatayat, a cooperative public transport company, has not yet got a go-ahead to ply in Bhaktapur District.
Sajha Yatayat has not got the permission due to the negligence of the staffer of the Department of Transport Management under the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport despite application filed at the concerned body on March 13.
Sajha Yatayat has not been given permission to run in Bhaktapur following pressure exerted by the local bus entrepreneurs, Mahendra Pandey, acting executive officer of the Sajha Yatayat told Republica Online.
Let Sajha rise
Sjha Yataya had applied for a route permit to run in Bhaktapur district at the request of the locals a week ago.
Sajha Yatayat has a plan to extend its services to Bhaktapur from those 20 buses which are currently plying along Kalanki-Koteshwor route.
Dharma Raj Rijal, coordinator of Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs (FNNTE) Bagmati Chapter, has said that they would not allow Sajha Yatayat to run on any routes it wishes.
Chief District Officer of Lalitpur District Deepak Kafle said that a meeting of the DTM held on March 30 had decided to allow the Sajha Yatayat to run in Bhaktapur district.
The DTM should grant the route permit if the application is filed at the department by the bus entrepreneur in line with the Section 81 of the Transport Management Regulations.
